Massacre not war in Gaza

This time it is being called Operation Protective Edge. In previous years it has been dubbed by Israel as Operation Pillar of Defence and Operation Cast Lead. Unintended consequences of Iraq war

History is littered with the unintended consequences of war. Former Chief of General Staff, Lord David Richards, reminds us that the Second World War was the indirect result of reparations imposed on Germany at the end of the First World War. Virtually any military conflict, whether it be the Boer War, Vietnam, Korea or elsewhere scattered around the world, has had unexpected repercussions, mostly for the worst. Many still have to live with war far from being a precise science and often politically abused for other purposes.

Putting the genie of terrorism back in the bottle

Is the British Government inane, obstinate, empty-headed or just prefers not to listen? If it still fails to understand that its policies on countering so-called Muslim terrorism are misguided and blown out of all proportion, who else is better to take notice of that than the head of the Secret Intelligence Service at the time of the 9/11 attacks, Sir Richard Dearlove. The former MI6 chief also points the finger at Saudi Arabia for its possible role in bankrolling the rise of ISIS in Iraq when Britain does not seem to have any strategy in this area.
