RIO DE JANEIRO, (Xinhua): Five people were killed in a plane crash in midwestern Brazil Friday, authorities said.
The aircraft, a Seneca 3 model, a small plane, was on its way from the town of Ouro Fino, Minas Gerais state, to Gurupi, Tocantins state. It was supposed to make a stop in Caldas Novas in midwestern Brazil for refueling.
It crashed into the woods near the Nelson Ribeiro Guimaraes airport as it was about to land Friday morning, according to rescue workers, who said that the plane’s undercarriages were out already.
The dead included three men and two women.
Cause of the air crash remains unknown.
The local Center for the Investigation and Prevention of Aircraft Accidents has been called to investigate the causes of the crash.
