YAOUNDE, (AA): At least 30 people were killed in a suspected twin suicide bomb attack in Cameroon’s Kerawa city Thursday, a security source told Anadolu Agency.
Kerawa is located in the Far North Region of Cameroon near the Nigerian border.
According to the source, the first explosion occurred in a crowded market in the town of Kerawa at around 11 a.m., local time (1000GMT).
After a few minutes, a second explosion took place, some 200 meters from a military camp, the local source added.
According to preliminary reports, the death toll is at least 10, with some local media reports suggesting that the toll could be as high as 30.
Cameroonian authorities have yet to officially comment on the attacks, but similar incidents in the past have usually been blamed on the Boko Haram militant group.
