Denmark: Danish group promises to show Muhammad cartoons

9th Jul 2015

ANKARA (AA): A Danish anti-Islam group has pledged to display the cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad that were the focus of a U.S. exhibition targeted by gunmen earlier this year, a local radio reported on Wednesday.

Anders Gravers Pedersen, the chairman of Stop the Islamization of Denmark, told DR channel the cartoons would be displayed although the group has not yet found a venue for the proposed exhibition.

“But of course they will be displayed,” he said.

The visual depiction of Muhammad is considered offensive by most Muslims.

In May, two men who attacked an exhibition of the cartoons in Garland, Texas, were shot dead by police.

Ten years ago, Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten published cartoons of Muhammad that resulted in violent demonstrations across the Muslim world.
