BAGHDAD, (Xinhua): At least 3 people were killed and 10 others wounded in twin bomb attacks on Friday in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, a police source said.
Two roadside bombs were set off successively near Imam Ali mosque in Safarart district, a Sunni-dominated neighborhood in western Baghdad, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The attacks targeted worshipers who were leaving Imam Ali mosque after finishing the Friday prayer, the source added, without elaborating further.
Iraq is witnessing its worst eruption of violence in recent years. According to the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, almost 7, 000 Iraqis were killed and over 16,000 others injured from January to October this year.
