18th Apr 2013

IMEMC & Agencies: Palestinian medical sources reported that a Palestinian youth was shot by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the head during clashes with Israeli army in Beit Ummar town, near the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

The sources said that the youth was injured after the army attacked Palestinians marking April 17, the Palestinian Prisoners Day.

Mohammad Awad, spokesperson of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Beit Ummar, told the Radio Bethlehem 2000 that the army fired dozens of rubber-coated metal bullets, gas bombs and concussion grenades, and added that dozens have been treated for the effects of teargas inhalation.

Awad added that cashes are still ongoing in the town, and that the army is firing more gas bombs and rubber-coated metal bullets.
