Muslim shot dead in London

A 16-year-old boy was shot dead in Stockwell, south London, by a gang who chased him on bicycles.
Abukar Mahamud, of Somali origin, who lived on the Tulse Hill Estate, was shot in the neck in the early hours of July 26. He was shot outside Cassell House of the Estate.
According to the police, he was pursued by a group of between 5 to 7 black males riding pedal cycles apparently wearing bandanas "in order to conceal their faces." "A number of shots were fired towards the victim outside Cassell House, resulting in him being fatally wounded," said the police.
"The suspects, who we now believe to have been carrying two firearms, then made off into the alleyway next to Packington House."
Mahamud was pronounced dead at the scene.
David Taitte, 20, of Enfield House, Stockwell Gardens Estate, was arrested later on July 26, has been charged with his murder.
The police said they are keeping "an open mind" as to the motive of the assailants.
