200 civilians killed by NATO air attacks claim Afghans

NATO air attacks Thursday in the southern province of Helmand has resulted in heavy civilian casualties.
According eye witness accounts, over 200 civilians, many of them women and children, one as young as eight, were killed in the bombardments.
Wounded civilians have begun arriving to a main hospital in Lashkar Gah, the provincial capital and in Kandahar.
The US military spokesman said that the air attacks were against a Taliban meeting.
