Palestine: Palestinian injured by Israeli army fire near Ramallah

23rd Jun 2013

IMEMC & Agencies: Palestinian medical sources reported Sunday that a young Palestinian man was shot and injured by Israeli army fire near the Al-Jalazoun refugee camp, in the central West Bank district of Ramallah. The soldiers shot the young man after his car collided with a military jeep.

The sources said that the young wounded man managed to escape and ran into the refugee camp.
The Palestinian was heading back home after the massive celebrations held in Ramallah after a young Palestinian singer, identified as Mohammad Assaf, won the Arab Idol competition for young aspiring singers in the Arab world.

Dozens of soldiers invaded the camp searching for the wounded Palestinian but could not locate him.

The invasion led to clashes between the soldiers and local youths in the camp; the army fired gas bombs and rubber-coated metal bullets, no injuries have been reported.
