Palestine: Two teachers, one student, kidnapped in Jerusalem

IMEMC & Agencies: The Al-Aqsa Foundation for Waqf and Heritage has reported Sunday that several Israeli soldiers kidnapped two teachers and a student in the Al-Aqsa Mosque yard, and took them to an interrogation facility. The attack took place after settlers broke into the Mosque’s yards.

The foundation said that the soldiers kidnapped Hanadi al-Hilwani, and her colleague Zeina Amro, in addition to a student identified as ‘Alaa’ Abu Al-Haija.
Mohammad Abu Ata, head of the Media Department of the Al-Aqsa Foundation, said that dozens of extremist Israeli settlers, led by the chief of a group calling itself “The Temple Mount Heritage Fund”, Yedhua Glick, invaded the Al-Aqsa Mosque yards through the A-Magharba Gate.

Abu Ata added that dozens of soldiers and police officers were deployed in the area, but did not even try to stop the provocative acts of the fanatics.

Glick led several provocative acts in the Al-Aqsa mosque yards, and marched with a number of fundamentalist Israelis calling for the destruction of the Mosque in order to “rebuild the Temple” in its place, Abu Ata said.

More than a month ago, Glick was ordered by Jerusalem’s District Court to stay away from the Al-Aqsa Mosque area, but continuously violated the ruling.

On Sunday evening, soldiers invaded the Al-‘Eesawiyya town, in occupied Jerusalem, and kidnapped one resident identified as Basel Mahmoud, 48, while standing in front of his house.

Local sources have reported that the invasion led to clashes with dozens of local youths, and fired dozens of gas bombs and rubber-coated metal bullets; no injuries were reported.

At least ten Palestinian children have been abducted by the army in the Al-‘Eesawiyya, over the last ten days.
