Pakistan: Explosion in Quetta kills four, injures 22

QUETTA, (Dawn): A blast in Quetta’s Satellite Town area Thursday killed four persons, including two children, and injured 22 persons on Thursday, DawnNews reported.

Buildings near the blast site were damaged as a result of the explosion which targeted a vehicle of the Frontier Corps (FC).

Regional Police Officer Arif Nawaz confirmed the casualty figures adding that seven to eight kilograms of explosives were used in the making of the bomb which was planted on a bicycle.

The FC vehicle was also destroyed in the attack.

Emergency and security teams reached the site of incident.

The victims, which included FC personnel, were shifted to Quetta’s Civil Hospital where an emergency had been imposed.

Security personnel cordoned off the area as a probe into the incident went underway.

At least three synchronised explosions took place in Quetta a day earlier during which two people were killed and six others were injured.

Dera Bugti mine explosion

At least four women were critically wounded in a mine explosion in Dera Bugti district of Balochistan.

The injure were shifted to Sui Hospital.

Chaman Blast

An explosion in Balochistan’s Pak-Afghan border town of Chaman injured two persons.

Rescue and security teams reached the blast site situated near Eidgah Chowk in the city. Several cars were damaged in the explosion.

The victims were shifted to the Civil Hospital in the city for medical treatment. An emergency was imposed in the facility.
