Pakistan: Karachi violence claims two more lives, 4 injured

KARACHI, (The News): Two more lost their lives while four others sustained injuries in different violent incidents in Karachi Friday, Geo News reported.


According to police, a body was found from a house in Defence View phase 2 area. Police suspected that the man was killed for allegedly resisting a robbery attempt.


Another body was found from Old Haji Camp area whose identity could not be ascertained yet.


Four persons were also injured in different firing incidents that occurred in Malir-Saaudabad, Star Gate, MA Jinnah Road and Mai Kolachi areas.


It may also be mentioned that an armed clash between two groups took place near Karachi airport that injured one person in the wee hours of Friday.


The incident between a political party and a gang war group took place on Shahra-e-Faisal near Star Gate and Al Falah areas. More contingents of police personnel were called at the site of the incident after which the firing stopped.


The shooting lasted for more than half an hour, triggering tension in the area.


According to SSP East Imran Shaukat, the police kicked off search operation in the area after putting the security cordon.


A 40-year old man, identified as Nasir Mehmood, sustained injuries as a result of the incident.,-4-injured
