Stones were thrown at a Bletchley mosque on Manor Road, in Milton Keynes on July 21, at 3.39am. A 22 year- old man was arrested and held in custody for a racial aggravated public order offence. This is the 20th mosque attack since them murder of Lee Rigby in Woolwich.

The young man also threatened people who attended the mosque at the time.

A spokeswoman from the Thames Valley Police told The Muslim News on August 1 that the man was “arrested and released on police bail until August 18.” The bail was extended last week to September 29.

The latest attack comes after an earlier attack on Zainabia Islamic Centre, also in Milton Keynes. Inflammable liquid was thrown over to the mosque. Occupants in mosque managed to get out safely and the fire was put out.

The police have increased patrols in the area as Dave Dachtler, investigating officer said, “We will not tolerate any kind of hate crime in our community and we always treat any occurrences extremely seriously.”
