For the second time, Prime Minister, David Cameron, has tarnished the image of British Muslims abroad after previously using a speech on radicalisation and “Islamist extremism” in Munich in February 2011.(http://archive.muslimnews.co.uk/archives/paper.php?issue=262&article=5091)
During a visit to China Wednesday, Cameron used the occasion to unveil yet further repressive measure against the British Muslim community, warning that people and groups were spreading a “poisonous narrative that can do so much damage to our country and poison and radicalise young minds.”
“There are just too many people who have been radicalised in Islamic centres, who have been in contact with extremist preachers, who have accessed radicalising information on the internet and haven’t been sufficiently challenged. I want to make sure in our country that we do this effectively.”
The new proposals come from the report of his Task Force on Tackling Radicalisation and Extremism, set up in the wake of the killing of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich and attempts to give an official definition of the misguided term “Islamist extremism”, claiming it is a distinct ideology not to be confused with traditional religious practice.
“By using words and phrases such as ‘Islamist extremism’, the Prime Minister is yet again sending a wrong public message that the problem is to do with Islam and therefore demonises all Muslims,” Editor of The Muslim News, Ahmed J Versi warned, adding that such use of phrases will increase Islamophobic attacks against Muslims, Islamic centres and mosques.
The report insists that the Government will “fight terrorism of every kind, whether based on Islamist, extreme right-wing or any other extremist ideology” yet solely focuses on new measures directed at Muslims, madrasahs and mosques.
It refers to the brutal killing of Mohammed Saleem in Birmingham at the height of terrorist attacks against mosques but fails to mention any specific proposals to counter such terrorism by fascist and white supremacist groups.

To be honest, no group of people has damaged the world, other people’s societies more than you in the west.
The Muslims don’t want to integrate or abide by western law. Just because they don´t want to wear nude clothes or at least cloth that can show how big her breast are… so these people failed to integrate. Just because they don’t like free sex, then these people failed again.. what a dirty Bush mind you have!
According to Islam, a girl must be married as soon as she gets her period. The hypocrisy of the Western society is clearly seen whereas an Australian Judge failed to jail nine males who admitted gang-raping a 10-year old aborigine girl in 2005, saying the victim probably agreed to have sex with them and a UNICEF Photo of the year shows, a bridegroom, 40, with his 11-year old bride in Afghanistan. In my opinion, a UNICEF photo of the year must show a nine year British girl having a baby and another photo showing a gang of teenage girls with anti-social behaviour and vomiting out side a pub, thanks to binge drinking.
Although the origin of the proverb “When in Rome…” is Christianity, they never preached accepting other people’s religious and social customs and following them, it was the Buddhists who came up with that. Why do Muslims follow it when the practicing Christians don’t?! If Muslims were to follow that, then what about dating? proms? boy/girlfriends? and other ills of the western countries?
In terms of Muslim Schools well if Muslims want their children to attend a Muslim school then that is their choice. There are some Muslim schools that provide their pupils with high levels of achievement and others that do not, however this also applies to state and community schools too. So let’s not point the finger at Muslims for ruining the education system…instead, think of strategies to deal with scenario. The blame game never works. All the best. And how many state schools have been providing appalling education for years (even with ‘qualified’ teachers)? Quite a lot, according to Ofsted, and judging by the number in special measures. The difference is that they have been getting away with it for years because parents have no choice. The market solution allows such problems to be rectified quickly or the school will go out of business. With state schools, they just carry on.
The tragedy of forced marriage and honour killing could have been avoided if the poor girls were educated in a single sex state funded Muslim schools by female Muslim teachers. The tragedies are an eye opener for all those. Muslim schools are crucial for Muslim children. Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. They help to strengthen community cohesion, not undermine it. Muslim schools stand as shining beacons of light, serving as one of the most crucial factors which protect Muslim children from the onslaught of Eurocentricism, homosexuality, racism and secular values and traditions. They need to be well versed in Standard English to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. At the same time they need to be well versed in Arabic, Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with their cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry.

I see no inconsistency here. Where would Islamists frequent, and what religion are they? I would say that Mr Cameron is attempting to protect the safety of the people of his country, against terrorism. Search TROP

Yes it’s a terrible way of life in the west
In the UK our Muslim population are queuing up at the borders to leave the country but so far those who have successfully left have only reached as far as Calais. The French have built camps there to accommodate them
We are totally ashamed in the UK that our Muslim population is so unhappy that they want yo leave us

Re Patrick – To be fair, muslim do enjoy rights in the UK, and most of us are privileged to be born in the UK.
However, it seems almost exceptable that laws are created specifically to target the muslim community, and in many instances will not be applied fairly to other faith people.
An obvious example will be the full force of the UK law is applied to people of muslim names regardless whether they are guilty or not. Compared to other faith/race groups where the concept of innocent until guilty is applied.

Patrick, if Muslims went back to their own countries as you obviously are craving to see, then they will become victims of western foreign policy which supports dictators, placed dictators and ensures what they have divided and conquered remains.
What a successful game, we will economically colonise their countries, ensure our supported dictators do OUR dirty work on our behalf, then when some Muslims flee persecution we will take them in as refugees and our naive population like Patrick will say see we are the good guys. Hats off to the crafty planning though.
