Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, tests the self-control of Muslims all around the world. A recent report has suggested that stock returns during Ramadan are almost nine times higher than during the rest of the year. The investigation found that the month, “positively affects investor psychology” as a rise in optimism and solidarity among Muslims lead to, “optimistic beliefs that extended to investment decisions.”
